One of the few breweries in the Hamadori coastal region of Fukushima. Iwaki Otokoyama carries the famous Otokoyama (Man’s Mountain) naming tradition. The coastal location gives a distinct character compared to inland Aizu breweries.

Located in Tamura city in the Abukuma highlands between Nakadori and Hamadori. Produces clean sake reflecting the pure highland environment. Area was impacted by 2011 events but the brewery has persevered and continued production.

Historic Shonai region brewery in Tsuruoka. Dewanoyuki means Snow of Dewa. Benefits from Gassan (Mt. Gassan) snowmelt water. Shonai plain rice and mountain water combine for elegant balanced sake.

Known for the Kamikigen (Supreme Joy) brand. Located in the port city of Sakata on the Shonai coast. Uses an unusually wide variety of sake rice types. Toji is known for experimental approach to rice variety expressions. Highly regarded among sake enthusiasts.

Located in Obanazawa city famous for its Hanagasa Festival and silver mines. Hanagasa Masamune brand named after the iconic flower hat dance festival. Small production focused on local Mogami region market.

Nagai area brewery known for traditional Yamahai and Kimoto methods. Yoemon brand carries the founder’s name. Nagai city in the Okitama region has a quiet sake-brewing tradition supported by excellent rice cultivation and mountain water.

Small traditional Aizu brewery in the rural Misato area. Maintains old-style brewing practices. Focused almost entirely on local Aizu market distribution.
