Kita Shuzo

Higashiomi is near the historic Eigenji Zen temple. Clean soft water from the Suzuka mountains produces gentle elegant sake.

Moriki Shuzo

Small artisanal Iga-region brewery known among sake enthusiasts for excellent yamahai expressions. The enclosed Iga basin provides ideal temperature extremes for sake fermentation.

Ota Shuzo (Mie)

Hanzomon brand references the famous ninja Hattori Hanzo from Iga. The Iga region is one of Japan’s two legendary ninja heartlands. Uses local Mie rice Kaminoho alongside classic sake rice varieties.

Wakabayashi Shuzo

Located in Matsusaka city famous for its premium Matsusaka beef. Small traditional brewery producing sake designed to complement the rich local cuisine.

Takashima Shuzo (Mie)

Located in Kuwana city at the mouth of the Ibi River near Ise Bay. Kuwana was an important Tokaido post station. The area’s river delta provides excellent underground water sources.

Fukumuro Shuzo

Located near the sacred Ise Grand Shrine (Ise Jingu) Japan’s most revered Shinto shrine. Sake has deep connections to Shinto ritual and Ise has an ancient brewing tradition tied to shrine offerings.

Kawabata Shuzo

Suzukagawa brand references the Suzuka River flowing from the Suzuka Mountains. Located in rural central Mie with excellent water sources. The mountainous terrain provides cold temperatures beneficial for fermentation.

Nagakubo Shuzo

Named after the Kuroshio warm current that flows along the Wakayama coast. Located in the Kainan area which was historically an important port. Produces umeshu alongside sake leveraging Wakayama’s famous ume plums.

Yoshimura Hideo Shoten

Located in Iwade along the Kinokawa River. Produces clean refined sake using the soft water from the river’s underground flow. Wakayama is better known for umeshu but has a quality sake tradition.
